We have just found out that the Lawrence Human Relations Commission will be RECONSIDERING the issue of amending our Human Rights Ordinance to prohibit discrimination against transsexual and transgendered persons at their next meeting on Thursday, February 18th at 11:00am in City Hall! (Your board has been working on this behind the scenes for quite a while.)As you know, the Human Relations Commission members voted against this in November. It's an inconvenient time, but please COME and SHOW YOUR SUPPORT for a non-discrimination ordinance inclusive of gender identity and gender expression. If you can't make it to the meeting, please send an email expressing your support to maggie.childs@gmail.com for delivery to the commissioners on the 18th.
